SOUTH AFRICA – A green middle stripe which is bordered in white and splits into a horizontal “Y” at the left hoist end, dominates the South African flag. This green stripe separates two other stripes of equal width; a red one at the top, and a blue one at the bottom. On the left side of the flag there is a black isosceles triangle which is outlined in yellow. The “Y” shape symbolizes South Africa’s diversity as well as its quest for unity. The many colors represent elements of former flags and the variety of their meanings. All Annin Flagmakers flags are sewn in either South Boston, VA or Coshocton, OH.
