BAHAMAS – A horizontal black triangle, originating from the left side of the flag and facing right, pierces the Bahamian flag which is otherwise made up of three horizontal stripes of equal width – aqua blue at the top, yellow at the middle, and aqua blue at the bottom. Adopted in 1973, the colors represent the sand beaches of the islands and the ocean waters. The black triangle symbolizes the unity of the nation.
